Rival boxing was founded by Russ Anber (AKA ‘The Coach’) and Jocelyn Poulin. Both from opposite sides of the spectrum they came together to forge one of the most innovative ranges of modern time.

Russ Anber is a veteran boxing trainer. He has four Olympians and one world champion under his belt. In June 2000 he was unanimously elected as the president of the Quebec Olympic boxing federation and a member of Boxing Canada’s board of directors, a position he still holds today.

Jocelyn Poulin is a leading sporting goods designer who has worked with a host of major brands across the world. His philosophy is to produce a product that contains all the key elements of a leading sports brand -technology, materials, style and design.

In the Rival Boxing brand they have managed to encompass all of these elements and at the same time produce a line of Boxing and MMA gear that stands out from the crowd.

The Rival Boxing range contains all the elements you would expect from a combat sports brand- Boxing gloves, Punch mitts, Headgear, Hand wraps and further accessories such as Holdall’s, Novelties and Apparel to list a few. Alongside this there is also a line of MMA equipment containing MMA fight gloves, MMA sparring gloves and MMA protective equipment.

The standout products in the range incorporate the ‘Intellishock d30’ technology. This range comprises of the Rival Boxing RB10 bag gloves, the Rival Boxing RB50 bag gloves, the Rival Boxing RHG10 Head guard and the Rival Boxing RPM10 Focus pads. ‘Intellishock d30’ is a revolutionary technique which aims to minimise the force on impact. Upon impact the Energy is distributed throughout the synthetic elastomeric polymer and the enhanced chemistry continues to distribute energy on throughout the matrix, significantly reducing the effect of impact.
