Being a national champion level boxer, when I am training it is not just about how hard I train, it is also about how fast and how completely I can recover. Consequently recovery supplements are right at the very top of my priorities when it comes to training.

Before I discovered Biorhythm Afterglow, I had always used CNP Pro Recover, which don’t get me wrong, is a really good top of the line product. It helped me massively, but for me there really is no comparison, against afterGlow, Pro-recover is outmatched.

When I first started working at BodyActive some 7 to 8 months ago, I'd heard  a lot of hype about Biorhythms recovery supplement, Afterglow. So I decided to give it a try and I now completely understand what all the hype was surrounding this product. It truely is in a league of its own.

Lets begin with the basics, how good this product is taste wise is just unreal !

When you have finished training all you want is a nice, refreshing drink, and with afterglow thats exactly what you get. I have tried every flavour except the new 'orange push' and they are all amazing, I'm currently on Bazooka fruit and its my favourite shake of the day.

Next for me is the fact that my sport carries a high level of risk of picking up small niggling injuries that can ruin my training. These range from impact injury to damage caused by high impact conditioning. After glow covers this by including ketosteroids within cissius quadrangluaris. This is perfect for myself obviously with the intensity of the training that I do, and I feel a lot lot better since I have been on afterglow.

High on my priority list is getting energy back into my muscles for my next session. All  recovery drinks contain carbs to replenish this energy, but Afterglow goes a step further. It contains Phosphatidylserine, a powerful anti-catabolic agent which gets your body back into an anabolic state faster. This means a better level of muscle energy and a faster repair to muscle damage.

Finally take a look at the ingredients. Basically, it’s a post workout shake for recovery. It has 10 grams of BCAA (L-leucine, l-valine and L-isoleucine) and Glutamine which is beneficial because it stops the muscles from breaking down after a tough training session. This is important because you don’t want to loose the gains you are getting from the training you have done.

There is 20g of isolate (fast acting) protein which means it will be getting into the muscle quicker and repairing straight away. There is 1000mg of kre-alklyn in there also, this is a fast acting creatine which will help with restoring your creatine phosphate levels which will help you from fatiguing when you train next time. There are 32grams of carbs in the shake but here is the beauty of it - 26g of them are unrefined sugars so it will help keep the body fat low. They are also again fast releasing so the body will be repairing as soon as possible - ideal for a boxer who is struggling to make their fighting weight.

In summary, its got to be said that biorhythm afterglow has had a big impact on my training. Compared to the alternatives on the market, and I've pretty much tried them all, I personally think that afterglow stands head and shoulders above them all.

The results, when I am training flat out and using Afterglow twice a day ( after my morning and night training sessions) speak for themselves. The next day I am more or less back to normal, which means I can go into my next session and put 110% back into my training. It is THE premium product for after training and I recommend it to any athlete in what ever sport you may be doing, I couldn’t imagine life without it anymore.
