jeffs- from a beast to a monster log!

Re: jeffs- from a beast to a monster log!

I agree with mike. I enjoy reading it but don't have that much knowledge to add. Its one that I always try to keep an eye on. Although I'm not on here everyday I do like catching up.

Pictures are good to see. Shame about the nasty black rash though lol.

Re: jeffs- from a beast to a monster log!

the log has been great to see you and a few others talk about a subject so freely that is often not really mentioned. I've found it really interesting and a great read.

Videos and pics always make things more interesting, although i understand that it could be hard to get someone to video you during your sessions if you don't workout with someone or what to keep your workout to a set time.

Thanks for taking the time to do that log and good luck with your pct

Re: jeffs- from a beast to a monster log!

EQ would have less potential side effects than Deca Jeff. It hardly doesn't aromatise even at 1000mg per week. Gives really nice lean and quality muscle mass and vascularity with no water retention that Deca can give. Unlike Deca, there is no Progesterone or prolactin sides either. EQ is versatile like Testosterone and can be used for bulking as it increases appetite but also recomp/cutting. I would say 16 weeks on EQ as it is a long ester and obviously testosterone as the base along side. 600mg per week of EQ is the sweet spot.

Re: jeffs- from a beast to a monster log!

sorry only just writing back. thanks for following. hiking I haven't started pct yet mate i start a week Monday. so see how I get on I hope to hold onto the majority of my gains. fingers crossed.
weight is still the same at the minute.

@darren I'm not sure what to run yet mate. I'm swaying back towards deca as it's more suited to my goal. I want to bulk and seeing as test/deca/dbol is probably the best bulking combo it only makes sense to run this cycle. Iv read a lot of views on EQ saying.it's useless etc. I came confirm this but would rather not waste a cycle at the minute. who knows I'll probably change my mind again lol.

today's session was back and I changed it up a lil bit.

deadlift-
4x6-8reps 200kg

lat pullover machine-(amazing piece of equipment)
1x12reps 80kg
1x10reps 90kg
2x8reps 110kg

hammer strength iso last pulldown-
1x12reps 40kg (feel set)
2x10reps 80kg
1x8reps 100kg

bent over row-
4x10reps 90kg

wide grip seated row-
4x10reps 90kg

hammer strength single arm row-
3x10reps 80kg each arm.

Re: jeffs- from a beast to a monster log!

Some good numbers there Jeff, impressive single arm rows.

The Deca/Test/Dbol cycle is the best bulking cycle you can do and if it's a pure bulk you want then that's the way to go. I think the reason some users of EQ are dissapointed with it is it takes a long time to kick in and you need high doses of it ie..6-800mg per week. Some go up to a 1000mg per week on it. Like you say, it's early days. You may wan't to try Anadrol instead of Dbol this time - for a kickstart.

Re: jeffs- from a beast to a monster log!

For me I'd look at something like.
Deads
Wide rip pull downs to back of neck
Narrow grip palms facing
Pendlay Rows
1 arm db rows.

I find the following work well for me at the moment:

Pendlay rows or Dumbell rows
Pull ups - weighted or bodyweight high reps

I also do deadlifts, not saying it's a move just for the back, but adds thickness IMO

Re: jeffs- from a beast to a monster log!

I find my back responds well to high volume of exercises and high intensity. most people would probably say I do too much for back but it works for me
what do you in your opinion think is better
-bent over row
-t bar row
-supported t bar row (also known as lying tbar row)

Re: jeffs- from a beast to a monster log!

I find at the minute supported tbar rows (same as branch warren does) are working amazing! I can handle more weight and I add dropsets in which anhilates my back. not a big fan over bent over rows to be honest. love v bar pulldowns and heavy close grip seated row.
also what do you think of db rows vs hammer strength row (both one arm)

Re: jeffs- from a beast to a monster log!

Not sure If I've seen the one BW uses but I'm better with corner oly bar t-rows. I've gone upto 6 plates on that but doubt I could supportted prob as it allows you to slightly cheat on the free version. The supported we have is for wide rows and kills your chest when you load it up..

I'm the opposite with 1 arm rows though, I've done 250lb (5 plates) on the HS in the past but only can do up to 110lb on the db's.

Re: jeffs- from a beast to a monster log!

ive recently swapped pendlay rows to the end of my back routine ,lighter weight but rep it out, superset with pulldowns, corner t bar row,and single arm cable row have been shown to produce more lat stimulation, underhand grip pulldowns(near shoulder width) too.a tip i was given recently and was also written up on tnation was if you are deadlifting do it first and do lat stretching lifts after so the lats stay tight for deading.good old ez bar pullover and cable reverse fly are good finishers.

Re: jeffs- from a beast to a monster log!

I can tell I'm coming off now and coming into PCT hoping to hold onto my gains. energy is slightly Down aswel as strength I guess this is the testosterone drop. still going into every session with 100% regardless.
managed a good strong relatively easy set of 6 on 210kg deadlift today. also keeping my diet strong.
I've got a new snack in between meals that I find is helping it's 100% natural muesli with added nuts an before adding the milk I mix in 2scoops of whey all together it provides around 500cals..I'll have a better update a little later on.
