How often do you get massages?

How often do you get massages?

It doesn't matter whether it's sports massage, a chiropracter, or something basic like a Thai massage on holiday Nation-Smilies/wink - How often do you get attended to be either a qualified or non-qualified individual?

Recently, I've been getting at least two massages per week. They cost me 100HKD for bull body (around £8.50 for 45 minutes), or 80HKD (about 7 quid) for 45 minutes foot massage. I usually get one of each as a form of relaxation. They help tremendously with my well-being and I always feel a lot better after visiting them. My place is a local Thai one by were I live (now now, I know I'm inviting the inevitable on here) and they're great. They speak no English, but we can communicate enough in Cantonese for me to tell them where I'm experiencing pain and they really beat the shit out of certain bodyparts and you do feel a lot better after them, especially in the mobility of the joints you're usually experiencing pain / stiffness in.

Does anybody else invest in them or see them worthwhile? I've practically made it a staple of my weekly routine.

I never get any work done, I have thought about doing so a few times recently.

Maybe its something I'll give a shot in the near future.

It's worth getting done at least a couple of times by a good professional to assess the area's where you may be tight or need extra work. Many people have problems they aren't aware of and once you find out about them it makes the world of difference once you start to rectify them with self-myofascial release methods to improve tissue quality (i.e. foam rolling, etc). It increases your performance and quality of life greatly and takes hardly any time to integrate into your routine.

Re: How often do you get massages?

Like Matt and most I'm guessing I don't get them done bar ever other than when I've really injured myself.

Managed to pull/twist my back this weekend slipping over with a barrow full going into the skip. Our lass gave it a 'rub' but the problem is if you don't know what your doing with somethings (massaging) you can make them worse! A few more days of what I'm like now and I might be paying for one!

A guy I work with cycles a lot and he swears by them and will have one at least every other week to release the stiffness in his legs. Says he can tell the difference so much after he's had it done.

Re: How often do you get massages?

I go for it once a month, it actually started as a thing my parents used to do as well, but when I began workout I realized that it makes me feel really good and enhances my well-being and performance.
