rib pop

a good while back i strained my ribs,i strained the muscle around the floating rib area and the cartiledge poped,its limke the floating ribs move and the cartiledge pops out and back in.sore ,a little stiff not like bad bruising or break.recently i was sparring in mma and a guy 100kg stacked me as i was going for a triangle.and with the pressure it popped ,anyone doing jitts or mma will know what i mean.im able to do light weight training but sparring is out for a week or so and ill stick to technique drills.anyone had this injury.i was thinking of getting a elasticated belt for compressive support????

Since it initially happened a good while back, it could be some scar tissue build up. Icing and some soft tissue work on the area will sort that. Ribs respond well to strong anti inflams, rest and icing.

could be scar tissue ,no hinderence on breathing or stretching really just feels like a bruised area,cartiledge/muscle,im gonna get a belt to help stabilise it while i work and do light excercise.
