Whey / Weight Gain / All In One / MRF ???
Whey / Weight Gain / All In One / MRF ???
ive not had a staple shake for a while now apart from pre and post workout shakes, but next month i want to up my protein intake in the hope of packing on a bit more muscle, but, i want to have it at work as part of my daily intake, and i usually find with straight whey the drink is too thin and doesnt fill me up enough to stop me snacking
its a minefield, i dont know what to use !!! and its driving me mad, price isnt paramount as long as the product is solid, id like some low gi carbs in it, not just loads of dextrose/maltodextrin etc, maybe oats or similar, id like something that makes a decent shake not something really thin and unfilling, and nothing super high calorie as im worried about putting on fat
i basically want something to help lean gains but i can put on belly fat quite easy so i need to be careful what i have, ive been thinking all sorts really i could do with some guidance
i should add that my training cosists of thai boxing 3 times a week, and im currently trying to go for a run 1-2 times a week aswell but at the moment this has only happened once lol
during a session i can do anything from 50-200 press ups, same for sit ups, and same for squats, sometimes also do 30-50 leg raises, dips, press ups/sit ups using the edge of the ring aswell, so as you can see all my workout really is bodyweight exercises, i dont think ill have a super high protein requirement and i will use some carbs for energy but i dont want rubbish carbs
i have 5g of creatine per day plus whatever is in the pre workout drinks, usually up to 5g, then the usual fish oils and multi vits

Re: Whey / Weight Gain / All In One / MRF ???
I'd recommend what im taking at the moment: reflex instant mass - good quality, slow digesting carbs to minimise putting fat on. Plus a mix of fast and slow digesting protein and it tastes pretty good too!
Re: Whey / Weight Gain / All In One / MRF ???
Instant Mass is a good shout but if your worried about putting a bit of tubs on Ive been using Boditronics express protein and I find this fits in great. Makes a nice medium thickness shake and as its a blend it keeps you fed/going through the day. Its 40g of proteins, 8g carbs, 2.8g fat and 10g of glutamine per serving.
I really like the sq. meal from biorhythem but this is more carb loaded litterly like a sq meal...
If you want to keep it really tight on the carbs and fats usn pure protein is spot on and again a blend.

I've got a few tubs of things on the go at the moment, instant whey tastes great especially in milk but may not fill you up enough. Have got a tub of nutrisport MRP which is great at filling me up with high protein and medium amoutn of low GI carbs, only downside is i'm not too keen on the taste.
Oh and if you like Steves suggestion of boditronics express protien you may want to check out the coupon section today
Best i've ever tasted was the square meal from Biorhythm as well but it's too easy and thin to drink that it didnt fill me up at all and I just wanted more!

Re: Whey / Weight Gain / All In One / MRF ???
For mrps iv always stuck to usn musclefuel i find its quite good value for money. £52 i pay for a 5kg tub which gives 90servings tastes really good an actually fills me up. Each serving is around 408cals with 44g protein and 49g carbs. It one if the only mass proteins that actually doesnt bloat me up.

Re: Whey / Weight Gain / All In One / MRF ???
square meal was a consideration but if it makes a thin shake its out the question im afraid, i need something filling, i tried the MRP's from MyProtein this afternoon and that was exactly what i was after, so i may look at Reflex Progen maybe, ive been looking at all in ones and weight gains, seems a hell of a lot of crossover products, most of which they just have different serving sizes
what does one stop extreme taste like, and is it thick and filling

Re: Whey / Weight Gain / All In One / MRF ???
If you want a thick quality fill you up shake you will not beat Progen! I used to have mine with a knife and folk
One stop extreme is good, I had a couple of big bags of it makes a medium thick shake tastes good - can be slightly gritty like most all in one's with the creatine, glutimine and that in it. I'm a big fan of MFA like Jeff but from memory doesn't make the thickest shake but will fill you!
Square meal is awesome but pretty thin and like said you just want another straight after as they taste the biz!

Re: Whey / Weight Gain / All In One / MRF ???
i think the one stop extreme might be good but the serving size would be too big for me i think, if i reduced it down i wouldnt really be getting the right amount of the beta alanaine and creatine etc, i think its definitely aimed more at people who wanna get huge
ive realised this morning that although Reflex make reference to low GI carbs in thier products such as one stop, and basically call other companies for using maltodextrin, a look at the label shows Reflex put maltodextrin in aswell, naughty !

Re: Whey / Weight Gain / All In One / MRF ???
Good spot Brun lol. The Boditronics stuff has great carb sourses as does the sq meal.
If you like the look of the one stop extreme but the serving size is too much maybe check the norm. one stop - I know its less calorific but can't remember what else differs tbh.
I'd go between the Progen, One stop, Sq meal & Boditronic stuff.
I use Boditronics Protein xrt 4 for a stack/light meal at the minute as I'm looking to keep my carbs low-ish so thats 40g protein, 10g glutamine and 8 carbs?

Re: Whey / Weight Gain / All In One / MRF ???
Hi Brun
Take a look at MAss Attack Evo , it is a Mass gain MRP and has Ultracarb as its main carb source . Ultracarb is a blend of whole ground oats , Barley , Durum wheat and Maize and is very low GL much less so that white oatflour used by others , it makes a nice thick shake as a conquence has a good amount of protein and cals and tastes pretty great . Its a great MRP for people looking to gain a bit of mass and replace meals .

The 4kg tub will work out a lot more cost effective in the long run... .png)

Re: Whey / Weight Gain / All In One / MRF ???
yea i just dont know if i could cope with the same flavour for so long, using it only once per day
im still considering using an all in one instead like profusion or one stop, as im getting a bit fed up of taking my creatine, it would make things easier, i really hate taking lots of different things

Re: Whey / Weight Gain / All In One / MRF ???
i have to say usn anabolic mass and usn igf low carb proteins are great and recently ive been using matador muscle anabolic drive ,the best tasting protein out there by far,im mixing matador and usn anabolic mass ,both chocolate and they taste great, around 300 cals and 35/40 g protein ago with 45 carbs, but you can vary it by mixing accordingly.great products ,they all are packed with glutamine.bcaas, and more so extra bcaas etc arent needed.
pain is how we know were alive
Re: Whey / Weight Gain / All In One / MRF ???
I had mass attack evo in strawberry. definitely one of my favorites. At the moment i'd probably rate boditronics as my favorite supplement company.
