Best protein powder to make recipies / cookies / brownies with?
Best protein powder to make recipies / cookies / brownies with?
I'd like to start baking some protein cakes / brownies / cookies - whatever you want to call them.
Preferably, an American brand given the costs of importing something here from the UK.
Does anybody have any experience / knowledge on which products work best, flavour, type of blend, etc? Obviously, Optimum have always been really popular for this sort of thing but I'm curious whether there are anyone else who can challenge for delicious recipes.

you can mix 1/2 scoop of whey , 1 scoop of casien, 1 egg and a small amount of milk in a cup and put it in the micro 30-60 seconds and it comes out a bit like a sponge. Although you have to eat it quickly or it turns to rubber!

Re: Best protein powder to make recipies / cookies / brownies with?
Here's a recipe I used with Strawberry Flavour Optimum (probably not the best to have used since it turns out its the worst I've tasted out of chocolate, banana and strawberry).
Around 300g of oats
Half a jar of crunchy peanut butter
couple of scoops of protein, I used enough that each "flapjack" I made had about 20g protein in
about 150-200mls of milk (more if its too thick)
Mix like crazy until its turned into a kinda batter thing and then put into a baking tin/tray on 180C for like 5-6 mins tops (just to kinda make it stick and harden a little)
Drizzle some natural honey over the top, cut into squares or rectangles or whatever and place in the fridge and you should hopefully have some decent protein flapjacks. If I was you, I'd use the double choc by ON since the chocolate and peanut butter is a boss combo anyway, and its a pretty tasty supp, compared to other synthetic tasting chocolate flavours I've tried...
